Prayer: PRAISE Praise is a wonderful thing and has many positive results. As a believer, you are called to praise the Lord. The Psalms is full of praise in many forms: sing, rejoice, glorify, exalt, give thanks, worship, magnify, delight. All of these terms bring you to the point of focusing on your God, your Heavenly Father. He is worthy of all praise. Consider some of the names for God: King, Most High, King of kings, Almighty, Creator, Hosanna, Jehovah, Mighty God, Excellent Glory, Everlasting God, Father (Abba,) God of Heaven, Holy One, Lord of hosts, God Most High, Sovereign, God Almighty, I AM. You have many choices in praising the Creator of heaven and earth. There is such a variety of how to praise, and how to address your great God. You may pray out loud, you may sing, you may bow down, you may dance, you may cry out. Praising God brings you into His very presence. You are joining the host of heaven in worshipping God. Praising God allows you to focus on His personal attributes, and to delight in Who God is, and what He has done, and what He has done for you. I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise in Your name, O Most High. Psalm 9:1 Praise gives you a different attitude. Praise is the best way to be delivered from worry and fear and negative thinking. Praise defeats Satanís schemes to control your mind. Praising God puts God in control of your life. Praising God indicates that you are not trusting in circumstances, other people, or yourself to solve your problems. Praising God indicates that your life, your needs, your purpose is all wrapped up in God alone. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God In Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Godís will is for you to continually praise Him. Giving thanks puts your trust in God alone. God is able to meet all of your needs. Praise brings healing. Praise puts you in the very presence of God. Praise brings joy. Praise allows you the freedom to be released from the burden of doubt and defeat and fear. Surround yourself with praise constantly. Rejoice in the God of heaven and earth Who loves you. Joyfully, Joyce
