Prayer: WHAT IS IN A WORD When you give your word, you are making a promise that what you say is true. It reflects your character and your integrity to be honorable. The same is true about God. When He gives His word, His promise, He backs it up by His power and His honor. How confident can you be that God will keep His word? The word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:8 The word of God is a guarantee that you can bank on. God has promised that His word shall not return to Him void. (Isaiah 40:8) God has stated that He will be with you through rivers, waters, fire and flames. (Isaiah 43:2) God says He will never leave you or forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) These are words that you can hold on to and use as an anchor. When you trust in God, you are able to know for certain that His word is true. It is up to you to read the word, know the word, remember the word, meditate on the word memorize the word. Otherwise you will not know the truths that are yours to claim. That is why the Bible, the word of God, is so important for your daily life. When you fill your mind with the truth of the word, you will not be easily misled. When you have the word of God in your heart and mind, you are able to walk with God in obedience and know His ways. The enemy wants to deceive you and take away your righteousness, peace, and joy. That is accomplished by giving you lies instead of the truth. Without the word of God, you are easy prey for false teaching. You need the truth. You need to know Who speaks truth all the time. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6 You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 Who you believe will determine the direction you will go. Obey the truth. See the life that Jesus gives. Look to the word of God for help, strength, health, protection, guidance, life, salvation, joy and peace. The list can go on. Find the truth that will set you free. Choose to know the truth. Read the Bible every day. Joyfully, Joyce
