Prayer: WHERE IS YOUR FAITH It is important to put your faith in the right things. Faith means that you are placing your trust and confidence in a person or an idea or a system. It means that you are counting on what you are being told to be the truth. When you put faith in something, you have expectations beyond what you can know on your own. God places a high priority on your faith. God is faithful, His promises are true. He has a perfect track record of truth. So if you put your faith in God, you have assurance that He will honor your faith as he has promised. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 Faith is a very important part of your relationship to God. The Bible states that you are ‘saved through faith,’ Ephesians 2:8. You are ‘sanctified by faith,’ Acts 26:18. (Sanctified means you are made holy.) You are also ‘justified by faith.’ As a believer you are encouraged to ‘walk by faith’ and also to ‘live by faith.’ God encourages you be protected by taking the ‘shield of faith.’ When you place your faith in God, you are making a very wise decision. God’s word is true. He is the creator of heaven and earth. He always keeps His promises. His word gives you all that you need for living here on earth, and for life with Him forever. God promises to hear when you call. God says that if you seek Him you will surely find Him. He wants to have a close relationship with you. Read John 1. There are many dark places where you cannot find your way alone. There are many uncertainties in life where you cannot know which way to go. There are many challenges where you need counsel and guidance. Have faith in God to lead you. Read His word and listen. Trust (have faith) in the LORD with all your heart And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 Joyfully, Joyce
