Prayer: OH HOW MARVELOUS There is a wonderful word in the English language. It is the word, Marvelous. It is defined in the dictionary as, “causing wonder; …astonishing or extraordinary, so extraordinary as to be improbable, incredible or miraculous.” That makes the word very important. It is not something we use for everyday occurrences. In the Bible, this word is used many times to refer to the works of the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song For He has done marvelous things. Psalm 98:1 I will tell of all Your marvelous works. Psalm 9:1 Remember His marvelous works that He has done. 1 Chron. 16:12 This is a wonderful way to address the Creator of heaven and earth, the God of the universe. You can say, how marvelous as you take a look at the views of the universe through the most recent satellites and cameras in space. How marvelous as you see the variety and color and delicacy of flowers and their intricate design. It is marvelous when you see a newborn baby – a new life in all its complexity and beauty, every part perfect! I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made Marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14 Most marvelous of all, the God of the universe loves you, and calls you to come to Him. God allows you to call Him Father. You are able to be included in His family and enjoy an intimate relationship with Him. Through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice, you are welcomed into the family of God. That is incredible. It is miraculous. Yes, it is extraordinary. It is truly Marvelous! You are …His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 Joyfully, Joyce
