Prayer: PRAYERS FOR YOU What a blessing it is to know that many people are praying for you. Maybe you wonder how you should pray for others around you. There are some powerful prayers in the Bible that will give you an idea how to pray. You can be sure that if the prayer is in the Bible, God is happy to answer it. The prayers are mighty and powerful, they will give you strength. We are encouraged to pray for one another, to be earnest, to be diligent. Paul also prayed sincerely for the Christians that he was writing to. He prayed that they would have spiritual power and insight. He prayed that they would have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. He prayed that their eyes would be enlightened so they would know – spiritually, deep down in their being what this calling was all about. (Ephesians 1:17-20) He prayed that they would know that God has given them His own power to accomplish all that the Father asks them to do. You can receive that prayer as well. You are in the company of the beloved. You are strengthened to do the task by these prayers. Through the prayers you can bless your brothers and sisters as well. You need to lift them up and ask God’s blessing upon them. It gives them and you the reassurance that you are loved, that you have hope by grace, that you may receive comfort and be established in every good word and work. (2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17) The task is too difficult to tackle alone. You and your fellow believers are dependent upon the strength and help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Therefore we also pray always for you that God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him according to the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:11, 12 Pray for others, and accept the prayers in the Bible for yourself as well. Know that God will hear and answer. He wants you to be ‘strengthened with might through His Spirit.’ He wants you to be able to ‘know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.’ He wants you to be ‘filled with all the fullness of God.’ (Ephesians 3:14-18) This is all included in the prayers of Paul for his beloved Christian brothers, and for us as well. Joyfully, Joyce
