Prayer: THE GOD YOU WORSHIP Who is the God that you worship? The Bible gives many names and descriptions of God. How you know Him and understand His position, the better you will be able to worship Him. In Isaiah 40:28 He is called the everlasting God, the LORD, (YHWH) the Creator of the ends of the earth. He is Almighty God, Genesis 17:1, and the God of hosts, Psalm 80:7. He is God Most High, Psalm 57:2, the Mighty One, Psalm 50:1. He is Jehovah, Exodus 34:6. He has made the heavens and the earth by His outstretched arm. Jeremiah 32:17. This is the God you worship and serve. However the most precious and dear name that is given for God is ‘Father.’ The Bible says that you have the privilege and right to call Him Father. The Lord’s Prayer begins, ‘Our Father…’ Matthew 6:9. You have the honor of calling Him, Father. And even more personally, you can say “Abba, Father,” Romans 8:15 You have been chosen, you have been given the legal right as a believer and adopted child, to call the Creator of heaven and earth – FATHER! He is your Protector, your Covering, your Salvation, your Hope. But most of all He is your Father. Joyfully, Joyce
