Prayer: WHO IS THIS MAN? There are many names in the Bible that identify Jesus. Each one has a special meaning that pinpoints his purpose and position. Philippians 2:6-8 states that He came to earth and humbled himself. When you come to have a personal relationship with Jesus, you are able to understand the deep meaning of the titles that He carries. These names relate to the person of Jesus: holy Servant Chief Shepherd, Counselor, Son of Man, Prophet, Apostle, High Priest, Lord, Savior, Messiah, Son of the Highest, Prince of Peace, Immanuel, King of kings, Most Holy, Holy One, King of Glory Jesus is also spoken of with a focus on His position: Root of David, Branch, Scepter, Dayspring, Light, Sun of Righteousness, Star, Morning Star, Shiloh, the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Word, The Righteous Jesus is also identified with significant animals. He is: The Lamb of God, The Lion of Judah Finally, look to find names for Jesus in His eternal place in all of time: I AM The Amen, The Alpha and Omega, The Beginning and the End Born in a stable, raised in a carpenter’s home, shared His message for three years, condemned to death, crucified, rose from the dead, all to fulfill His eternal purpose of bringing salvation to you. Believe. Repent. Receive. Rejoice at the many facets of Jesus as He is presented in the Bible. Accept His position and plan that brings you into a close relationship with Him. Meditate on the names of Jesus to come to know Him better. Joyfully, Joyce
