Prayer: LET THERE BE LIGHT It is easy to take things for granted. You count on the daylight to allow you to complete your tasks. A farmer needs daylight to till the field, and to take care of animals. Light is necessary to help the plants to grow bringing fruit, vegetables and flowers. Light is welcome to see all of Godís handiwork: the mountains, the ocean, the forest, the rainbow. God created light to give light on the earth. There is another kind of light that is necessary for life as well. The LORD is my light and my salvation. Psalm 27:1 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 The LORD will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. Isaiah 60:19, 20 You will find that phrase twice in these last two verses. It is an emphasis that you have light that will last forever when you choose to believe and follow God, the LORD. Jesus was announced by the writer John: That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. John 1:9. The words of Jesus: I am the light of the world. John 8:12 I have come as a light into the world. John 12:46 When you receive the gift of forgiveness and the grace and mercy of salvation through Jesus, you enter into the true light. Your eyes are open to spiritual truths. For it is God who has commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4;6 Praise God for light, and also for the Light which He gives to believers. Joyfully, Joyce
