Prayer: WHERE IS YOUR HEART? It is important to know what your heart desires the most. The Bible says that where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. You need to determine what your focus is for your life. You can long to have material things, but they will not bring happiness. You can look for fame or status, but again, it will not fill your heart. The outside may look successful, but the true identity of the heart is what really counts. God is asking for you to give Him your whole heart. In return, you will be filled, and find peace and happiness. Hannah was overjoyed with the baby that God gave her in answer to her desperate prayer. She dedicated her young son, Samuel, to the Lord. Hannah willingly left Samuel there in the Temple to serve the Lord. That was her gift to God. She said: My heart rejoices in the Lord. I Samuel 2:1 You can have the same passion for God. Let your delight be in the Lord, and “He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 The first step is commitment, dedication, and a willingness to serve God first. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Psalm 84:2 I will praise the Lord with my whole heart. Psalm 111:1 When your heart’s desire is for God first, then your Father is ready to supply all that you need and ask. God even prepares your heart to know Him. I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart. Jeremiah 24:7 The first commandment is just that: You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 12:30 It is not enough to be half-hearted with your commitment to God. He is asking for your whole heart and life. Give God your best, let Him be first, and rejoice at how He makes your life complete. Joyfully, Joyce
