Prayer: OUR FATHER In the Bible, God has the title of Father. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, but He is also referred to as Father. Through His Son, Jesus, He has given you the privilege of becoming a child of God. You are allowed to call Him Father. But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12 This gives you the privilege of speaking to God as a personal and loving Father, and even calling Him “Abba, Father.” This term is reserved for the intimate family circle. Romans 8:15 That is the promise God gives to all who will believe in Him, call upon His name and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. You are made a part of God’s holy, chosen family. You have been adopted and are now an heir. Your Father, Almighty God, loves you and cares for you tenderly. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Cor. 6:18 You are in good hands, with your Father caring for you, watching out for you, defending you, protecting you. This is the God of the Universe who has declared that you are His child, you are honored and privileged. You belong. You, O LORD are our Father; our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name. Isaiah 63:16 Do not accept the position carelessly. Respect Who your Father is. Realize what it cost to redeem your life – even the sacrifice of Jesus. You have been bought with a price. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father.” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:6, 7 Hallelujah! God thinks you are worth it! Joyfully, Joyce
