Prayer: HOPE IN THE LORD Hope is a wonderful word. It gives the promise of something better to come. It fills you with anticipation. Hope relieves anxiety, because of what will happen in the future. Hope brings a promise of newness, renewal, refreshing. You may hope for a better job, a nicer home, a great vacation. There is hope for good weather, a great celebration, and a wonderful new year. The best hope that you can have is to hope in God! David said: My hope is in You. Psalm 37:9 David focused his hope on God. He based his life on the relationship he had with God. You can do that, too. Believe on God, and the gift Jesus gives, and that relationship with Him gives you hope. Base your hope on the word of God. Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I Peter 1:3 This hope is solid, sure and strong because of the promises that God gives to you. Your hope in God is based on the strength and the integrity of the One who tells you truth. God has promised that Jesus is coming again. Jesus has said you will live with Him forever. Jesus has said he preparing a place for all believers. Your hope is based on the solid foundation of the One you are waiting for. Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul. Hebrews 6:19 You see, this hope is not just a wish, but it is the reality that you will experience when Jesus returns. Your hope as a Christian is supported by the assurance of the indwelling Holy Spirit. It increases your joy because you know that whatever God promises will happen. Joyfully, Joyce
