Prayer: PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS How often it is that you hear discouraging reports about government leaders. It may be that people around you disagree with their agenda or their actions. Discouragement may lead to anger, frustration, distrust, complaints and even fear. However, the Bible teaches that there is another, higher responsibility to those who are in authority. I Timothy 2:1-4 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. So your focus should be for supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks for all leaders. You should direct your eyes to God, who is above all and over all. He is the One who can change the problems in every nation. The purpose for prayer and intercession is for a peaceable life so that more people will be saved. Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Your prayers must be for your nation. Pray that leaders will turn to God and follow His direction and path, or you may pray that God will raise up leaders that it will be an honor for Him to bless. You have a great responsibility and commitment to sincerely pray for those who govern on the national level, on the state level and even in the county and city in which you live. Pray earnestly. Pray daily. God has promised to hear and answer your prayer when you humble yourself and pray and repent. ( II Chronicles 7:14) God is the One who is in power and can accomplish His will. Continue steadfastly in prayer. Joyfully, Joyce
