Prayer: ENCOURAGING OTHERS You need to find ways to encourage your brothers and sisters in the faith. So many friends are burdened with the cares of the world on their shoulders. Others are hurt or angry because of lifeís disappointments. Some just need a friendly reminder of what God has to bless them. Of course, everyone needs a friend who cares. The Bible gives you ways to be an encourager. Read Philippians 1:9,10. And this I pray: That your love may abound still more and more In knowledge and all discernment. That you may approve the things that are excellent. That you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ, Being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Christ Jesus. How awesome it is to bless others with this prayer of encouragement. How comforting to know that someone is praying this prayer over you! This is positive and uplifting. It is a prayer that is in the will of God. It brings honor and glory to the Father and blesses those who receive it. Reading this passage from The Message gives added meaning: So this is my prayer: that your love will flourish and that you Will not only love much but well. Learn to love appropriately. You need to use your head and test your feelings so that your love is sincere and intelligent, not sentimental gush. Live a loverís life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God. Sometimes you just need to give others a reminder that you are praying for them. You are lifting their name before the Father. You are asking for Him to lead and guide them in their daily walk. Show how much you care. Send a special prayer. Encourage one another. Joyfully, Joyce
