Prayer: CHARACTER You say your desire is to be more like Jesus. God hears and answers that prayer. The answer to your prayer may not exactly be what you were expecting. However, James 1:2 tells you to count it all joy when you fall into various trials, because the end result is worth the effort. In Ephesians 4:22-25 you are called to: Put off – the old man Put on – the new man Put away – the old behavior All of this is accomplished by submitting to the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. A rock is hard and coarse, but with constant sanding it becomes smooth and shiny. Life circumstances are the sandpaper God uses to polish your character until you shine and reflect Jesus! The old rock has no ability to shine or reflect. The newly polished rock reflects light beautifully. Your witness shines in the midst of the difficult times you experience. Romans 12:2 states: Do not be conformed to this world But be transformed by the renewing of your mind… that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. God uses all of your life challenges to develop your character, and to let you know how much you can trust Him and how much He loves you. This is the testimony that draws others to follow Jesus. This is your life witness. This is your ministry. Rejoice in what God gives you. Joyfully, Joyce
