Prayer: God honors honesty. When you come to Him, it is acceptable to tell God exactly how you feel. Too often it is easier to mask your feelings, or think it is inappropriate to express your thoughts. God is not hurt, horrified, surprised or angered if you talk to Him honestly. Are you afraid, angry, worried, hurt, mad, disappointed, or frustrated? It is ok to say so. You are in good company. Read in Psalms and see how David talked to God. David and God were on a very personal level of friendship. Only when you speak up, express your feelings, and admit what is bothering you, are you able to be free in your relationship with God. This brings you into a new relationship with God. (A little secret: God knows it anyway!) Romans 8:28 states: "For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." When God knows you trust Him enough to express your true feelings, He will lead you into a closer, fuller, intimate relationship with Him. Out of this comes joy, praise, peace and comfort. Desiring to have a relationship with God is the best choice. Joyfully, Joyce
